Innovative Technologies for Superior Playback
A turntable is a precision mechanical system. The cartridge is designed to respond to the tiny movements contained within the record groove - not to vibration from the motor, bearing, structure or surrounding environment.
The REVOLUTION is engineered around one simple principle:
Control unwanted mechanical energy before it reaches the cartridge.
Every major part of the turntable has been designed with this goal in mind.
PRECISION WHERE IT MATTERS
Magnetically Opposed Hydrostatic Taper Bearing
At the center of the REVOLUTION is a precision-engineered bearing designed to provide exceptionally smooth and stable platter rotation.
The tapered bearing controls radial movement while the hydrostatic interface and magnetic thrust system support the platter with minimal mechanical contact.
The result is a highly stable rotational platform with extremely low friction and minimal unwanted mechanical noise.
Precision rotation. Minimal disturbance.
ISOLATION FROM THE OUTSIDE WORLD
Three-Point Mass-Loaded Hanging Suspension
The record, platter and tonearm are mounted together on a carefully balanced suspended platform.
The three-point suspension creates a stable mechanical structure while isolating the playback system from external vibration such as footfall, furniture movement and acoustic energy.
The mass of the suspended assembly works with the suspension to create a controlled mechanical filter.
External vibration is absorbed before it reaches the cartridge.
CONTROL THE ENERGY WITHIN THE STRUCTURE
Constrained-Layer Mass Damping
The REVOLUTION uses a combination of birch and Richlite within its structural construction.
Rather than relying on stiffness alone, the different materials work together to control and dissipate vibrational energy within the structure.
When the structure moves, the interfaces between the materials help prevent that energy from being stored and returned as unwanted resonance.
Stiffness provides control. Damping removes energy.
THE ENGINEERING PRINCIPLE
Let the Cartridge See the Record — Not the Turntable
A cartridge is an extremely sensitive mechanical transducer.
It cannot distinguish between movement caused by music in the groove and unwanted movement caused by vibration, resonance or mechanical instability.
The engineering challenge is therefore not simply to make a turntable rigid, heavy or isolated.
It is to control mass, stiffness, damping, inertia and isolation together.
That is the principle behind the REVOLUTION.
Control the mechanics. Protect the signal. Reveal the music.
